I've been a bad, bad girl. I've been running around trying to do everything and neglected a lot of stuff in the process, this blog included. Another wave of lots of stuff to write about has hit me, so I've been working on that as well… Read More
It dawned on me a few months ago that I do very well for an artist who plays very few live shows and does not have an album... so how much better could I be doing? I started working on an acoustic album about a year ago. The tentative name for it was "The Secrets Of Love And Lies". Then my life turned into chaos and the project got pushed back further and further until... well until it turned into nothing but a fantasy. I recently discovered Bandcamp though CarylCake. It got me thinking again. I could release an album or something.… Read More
Next Stop: World Domination finally begins today! Also worth mentioning, it is my two year anniversary of my YouTube channel today. It's been really exciting for me. Brainstorming, taking video of whatever comes to mind, and even the editing… Read More
Finally! The Sarah LaCroix show has a title! Next Stop: World Domination! It's a fitting title indeed. This new series will be a hybrid of webseries meets reality meets documentary. So far, it's been a ton of fun to shoot. A few insider notes:… Read More
After writing yesterday's post, I went back to concert rehearsals. I started with songs that I have cool arrangements for. Songs that I am happy with. I felt a little more settled about going up on stage, just me and a guitar. I also celebrated some other victories. I figured out how to get my banner up on this website with all of my social networking links. Yay! It took some trial and error, but I got 'er done! I'm also stoked that I'm getting comments on these blogs. I have to say that it's very cool indeed that people know my website exists and that people want to read what I have to write. On the personal front, I've been drinking more water… Read More
In the midst of rehearsing songs for my upcoming concert, something finally hit me. I am a girl with a guitar. In my head, I have a very clear vision of what I want my songs and performances to sound like. I can see what everything looks like. I am a girl with a guitar. And yes, acoustic songs have their place. I have a few songs that I want to perform acoustically. As for the rest of my rehearsal, I stood there practicing and suddenly, I felt a wave of terror. How do I get the sound I want? How can I pull this off so that I am satisfied with this? I don't want to be just the girl with the guitar. I know that I am capable of pulling something… Read More
Today, I've been kind of lingering around the site, trying to figure things out. I celebrate a few victories today. One, I figured out how to embed my YouTube videos into my posts. I even figured out how to get them to not spill out into the sidebar. Go me! I got my "office" cleaned up finally. I also decided to reread Rock To Riches by Andrew Chapman and Lee Silber. It was one of the first, if not, the first music business books I've ever read. (At this point, I've read many.) Still, this book remains one of my favorites. It's easy to understand, it's entertaining, and it was the… Read More
Where do we go from here? My skin is screaming at me. Part of it is probably hormone induced, but a lot of it is that I've been wearing makeup every single day for a month straight. My head hurts. Again, most… Read More
I ended up rambling way too long in my video and still didn't get to say half of what I wanted to say. Part two was intended for talking about the journey and the adventure this month has been. I wanted to highlight some of… Read More
I know I haven't posted anything since my introductory post. I spent February focusing on my video project. Now that the finale is beginning, I am thinking about my March projects. March will be for really getting the hang… Read More
